Cie Bond is a mixed-media artist based in Evanston, Illinois. Her vibrant and expressive work blends collage, paint, ink, and pencil to create joyful, layered abstractions. Drawing inspiration from the textures of daily home life, gardening, and her background in textiles, Cie’s work invites viewers into a world of color, comfort, and play.

A lifelong maker, Cie began her creative career in fashion, designing and selling her clothing line, Aimee True, at art fairs and boutiques across the U.S. In 2010, she transitioned to painting and weaving, exploring the intersection of materials and emotion through abstract compositions.

Cie has studied with Janet Trierweiler at the Evanston Art Center since 2005 and has participated in international residencies, including a block-printing residency with Heather Moore in Jaipur, India, a color intensive with Mitchell Johnson, a large scale abstract painting course with Heather Chontos and an on-going abstract painting residency with Emily Ball (2024, 25 and 26). Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows throughout Evanston, including Inside Outside Upside-down at 1500 Florence Gallery. She has participated in Artruck Evanston and has been featured in Evanston Roundtable’s Art of Making Art column.

Since 2015, Cie has sold her work to private collectors in the U.S. and abroad. Through her art, she seeks to create pieces that bring warmth, energy, and a sense of home.
